Trellis.

A trellis pattern influenced by Islamic geometric art and the flattened, stylized floral motifs of the Arts and Crafts movement.

Inspiration.

The Pattern is inspired by various geometrical compositions and flattened, stylised floral motifs, including:

1. The colorful faïance mosaics of the Alcázar of Seville, featuring octagonal patterns similar to those on this 11th century frieze fragment excavated in Nishapur, Iran.

2. Late 19th century Art Nouveau tiles from a building at Koninginneweg in Amsterdam.

3. Watercolor sketches by Augustus Pugin and William Morris from the mid to late 1800s, such as this embroidery design for a frame by Morris & Company.
